Frequently Asked Questions

Does Theraplate hurt?

Not at all! It can feel a little itchy to start with due to increased circulation but this usually goes after a couple of sessions. It feels a bit like you are vibrating but you are not; this is the centrifugal force.

Who can use the Theraplates?

Theraplates are not suitable for everyone. You should avoid using them if you:
- are pregnant

- are undergoing chemotherapy
- have a pacemaker, defibrillator, insulin pump or any other implanted medical device that is not MRI safe?
- have a history of blood clots or thrombosis
- have severe cardiovascular conditions
- have acute hernias, recent surgical wounds, or recent fractures
- experience unexplained pain or swelling

Do I need medical advice before using the Therplates?

If you have any existing medical conditions or concerns, it’s best to speak with your GP or healthcare provider before starting. This is especially important if you:
- have chronic health conditions
- are recovering from injury or surgery
- take medication that affects circulation

Can older adults use the Therplates?

Yes, many older adults use Therplates to support mobility and circulation.

Can children use the Therplates?

Therplates are generally intended for adult use but children can use them under supervision and with guidance from a healthcare professional.

What do I need to bring?

Just yourself! You may want to bring a book, some headphones or the crossword but we are a sociable bunch and also like to chat if you want to. You will be offered a drink when you arrive. You may want a small snack for after your session as it can increase your metabolism.

How long do I need to have sessions for?

This will depend on your individual needs. If you are coming to support healing a broken foot, for example,  it will be different to supporting chronic pain. Some clients use Theraplate for a one-off injury, however most clients have a regular session to alleviate pain and support their general wellness.

How long does the session last?

The sessions are 45 minutes which allows you to use more than one style of plate, should you wish to. Again, this is subject to your needs and you could come multiple times in the same day or week.

How do I book?
